TV Repair

TVs can fail in very repairable ways and manufacturers seem to persuade you to scrap the whole unit when there’s something as simple as a single bad capacitor inside.

I have repaired two TVs so far, one of which had a faulty backlight driver. After some investigation a new driver was sourced for $20 on eBay as I could not root-cause the intermittent problem. Another TV was throwing software faults and after a quick reset in the service menu everything cleared up and both have been working perfectly ever since.
